Mr. Dalton demonstrated how to use a spoke shave, a type of curved plane. There are two types of spoke shaves: one with a flat bottom and one with a curved bottom. While one might assume that the curved-bottom type is best for planing curved surfaces, he explained that the flat-bottom type is actually easier to use unless the curve is very sharp. It seems there is a bit of a knack to using it.

Mr.Raul noticed a flaw in Hasebe’s Veritas blade sharpening guide, so he repaired the one she had given up on and presented his findings. Rather than a repair, it would be more accurate to say he realized the parts of the sharpening guide had been used incorrectly and reassembled them properly. He then explained how to use it correctly.

Our club’s workbench has several vertical dog holes in the top, but since we thought it would be better to have some horizontal ones as well, Mr. Yazu agreed to drill them using his homemade drill stand. This makes it even easier to secure workpieces to the workbench. Thank you very much, Mr. Yazu.内容
