Introduction of Tool Chest :Mr. Dalton

Mr. Dalton introduced a tool chest manufactured around 1918 by the American Union Tool Chest Co., Inc., which was extremely popular among machinists. He then presented a similar tool chests he had made himself. Its exquisite craftsmanship impressed everyone. I’d love to try making one someday.

Try woodturning to make hanging hooks :Ms. Moroi

Ms. Moroi wanted to make hooks for hanging items on walls and such using a wood lathe, so she visited Mr. Ueda’s workshop—who is also an expert in this field—to receive instruction. She said she gained a clear understanding of the difficulty involved in making multiple pieces of the same size.

Introduction of wooden figurine using magnet :Mr. Matsushima

Mr. Matsushima created a decorative piece using magnets. It consists of a hollow rectangular prism with a magnet attached to one corner, suspended from a support rod. The ingenious part is that the magnet on the prism doesn’t touch the magnet on the support rod; instead, they attract each other while maintaining a tiny gap. This is because the prism is being pulled downward from the base by a thread. He recreated something he saw on social media.

Presented Plunge router Homemade router table :Mr. Ueda

Mr. Ueda had two presentations. First, he mounted a trimming router onto a third-party plunge base, enabling it to function like a plunge router. This allows for cutting stop grooves not just from end to end, but also from one point to another within the workpiece.
The other was a homemade router table. He built a device that motorizes the up-and-down movement of the router bit. It even includes a feature that automatically stops rotation at the top and bottom dead centers, making it quite convenient.

Interoduction of blade sharpening guide :Ms. Terauchi

Ms. Terauchi purchased another blade sharpening guide made in Country C. It seems suitable for sharpening Western plane blades and chisel blades. Mr. Sugita will take it and test it out.
